IPL Starters Match 9 – Hyd Sunrisers vs Mumbai Indians

Well, Cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties and our Yesterdays preview went awry with Steve Smith reporting sick and Samson playing the innings of his life. For Today,

Match 10 – Hyderabad Sunrisers vs Mumbai Indians

(Stadium – Mumbai) – Heist Specialists Mumbai take on the most balanced team in the tournament – Sunrisers.

Team Momentum

Mumbai are the perennial slow starters of IPL. They won the 2015 IPL after facing 4 consecutive defeats at the start. This year too, both their matches went down the wire, ending with 1 ball to spare.  Plundering 49 runs in the last 3 overs against KKR which boasts of a decent bowling attack augers well for their confidence.  Chuck it – Winning any close match would.

Sunrisers this season are like that guy in college who is good in academics, sports, and all other parameters. Warner’s provides stability at the top, Yuvraj is back to form, and they don’t have a single Jujubi bowler (Synonym for Ashoke Dinda in Telugu). The only chunk in their armour could be their untested middle order. The onus would again be on their opening pair to set them up with a good platform. (Warner lo first name and Shikhar lo last name adds upto bollywood director David Dhawan)

Players Form

Hardhik Pandya scored 64 runs of the 4 overs he played in this tournament. With his allrounder abilities he can build his case for making a comeback to the Indian team which lacks death over sloggers.  Rohit Sharma is yet to settle in after coming back from injury. He got out to a poor umpiring decision in the last match. Buttler looked well set in both the matches and Nitish Rana has provided middle order stability. Malinga who took a hat-trick in his last international match against Bangladesh will shoulder the bowling responsibility.

Sunrisers appeared the smartest during the auction for 2017 new players. And it shows up with the way Rashid Khan is befuddling the batsmen. Bowlers with X factor have always been instrumental for their teams in IPL (Historical Malinga for Mumbai, Historical Narine for KKR). Sunrisers will have a selector’s puzzle with overseas selection now. Their lynchpin for last year’s win Mustafizur Rahman has returned and they already have the below four well settled.

Warner – Captain and best player

Rashid Khan – Current Match Winner

Mosies Henriques – Consistent Batsmen with great Big Bash performance and handy bowler.

Ben Cutting – Finisher, Only Firepower for Lower Middle order.

Prospective XI

Super Telugu Insights

Its a batting wicket in Mumbai and a high scoring contest can be expected. Sunrisers has the best bowling side in the tournament and Mumbai has good batting depth. If Sunrisers go ahead and pick Mustafizur for their already strong bowling line up, it could be a self goal. Because look at the line up above, after No-4 Yuvraj Singh there are hardly any dependable batsmen. This makes Ben Cutting vital.
