How did the Actors Perform?
The film is Hrithik’s show all the way and perhaps his best performance till date as he managed to lift what could have been a mediocre film. He performed well as a confident and smart guy at the same time ensuring that his vulnerability is also displayed. In the one song where he gets to dance he took the film to a different level. Yami Gautham emoted better than her previos films. Real life brothers Ronit and Rohit Roy played reel life brothers as well. Ronit’s Marathi mix dialogues were impressive. Urvasi Rautela shined in an item song. Being 22, she has a bright future ahead in Bollywood.
How did the Technicians fare?
Director Sanjay Gupta is a remake specialist. Earlier he has done ‘Kaante’ based on Tarantino classic ‘Reservoir dogs’ and Aishwarya Rai’s comeback film ‘Jazbaa’ from Korean movie ‘Seven days’. This is a remake of Korean film titled ‘Broken’. The director built up the emotions very well during the interval scene, but the second half could have been much better. From music perspective the title song ‘Main tera kaabil hoon’ is a chart-buster and worth listening to on loop. One observation is that the cinematographer took special care not to show Yami Gautham in side profile, since her nose doesn’t look great in that angle. This is something you can take note and observe in case you watch the film.
