How did the Actors Perform?
Generally films touted as Entertainers have lot of comedians in the cast, but for this film 90% of the comedy one-liners are given to Nani itself. He carries the film with ease and panache. But as usual there are some scenes where he goes a little overboard. Nani continued to show his good innovation skills in the Tobacco statutory warning statement before the movie beginning.
Keerthy Suresh doesn’t have conventional Telugu heroine looks, but she does have conventional Telugu girl looks. She is an asset to the movie and would be a good fit for the upcoming movie on Mahanati Savithri gaaru.
Bellary boy Naveen Chandra had a great introduction scene but his role tapers off as the movie progresses. Sachin Khadekar looks too North Indian for Telugu film roles. Posani, Tulasi, Easwari Rao all gave good performances. Rao Ramesh has a very brief role.
How did the Technicians fare?
This is one of those films where dialogues are a bigger asset than the Storyline. It has a lot of routine scenes which are well elevated due to both comic and thought provoking dialogues. So special credit to dialogue writers Prasanna Kumar Bejawada & Sai Krishna. Nothing stands out in the Direction, but the Screenplay is engaging.
Cinematography is good and retains the Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy feel. Music by Devi Sri Prasad is ordinary and Thaman-gear. In the end credits the first name displayed is of Richa Singh, she probably deserves it because Nani’s costumes are distinctively better than his previous films.
Release Date – 3rd Feb, 2017
Super Telugu Take –
Nenu Local offers nothing new in terms of Story line. But it has entertaining content in parts and is watchable. People can take a call based on the below equation.
(Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy, Gentleman, Krishna gaadi Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha) > Nenu Local > Majnu
Super Telugu Rating – 3.25/5
(At Super Telugu, we strongly believe that the Story of any film should not be revealed. It kills the thrill factor for prospective movie goers. So the top column of Story synopsis is restricted to just 2-3 sentences.)
