Eenadu

Story: Neeraj Pandey.

Story : Eshwar Prasad (Venkatesh), Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad gets a call from a ‘Common Man’ (Kamal Hasan) saying that he has planted bombs in various parts of Hyderabad. The information about the same would be told only if he releases four dreaded terrorists. At first, Venky suspects it to be a prank call, but his doubts are dispelled once he actually finds a bomb planted in a police station near the Police Headquarters.
Innumerable lives are now at stake and it is Eshwar Prasad’s responsibility to trace the man behind it,as the chief secretary does not want to hold the responsibility. With his two trusted aides, Arif Khan (Ganesh Venkatram) and Gautham Reddy (Bharat Reddy), Eshwar Prasad jumps into action, while ensuring not to create panic in the minds of the public. Time passes by, but no concrete results are evident…..
What happens next is the main crux of the story. The whole story takes place in a single day.
Artiste Performance : When a film has two of the finest talents sharing screen space, it only heightens the curiosity. Kamal Haasan who has delivered several remarkable performances over the decades has done his role with ease. His outburst in the end, when he talks about the plight of the common man is astounding.
Venkatesh is equally dynamic. His get up is reminiscent to that DCP Ramachandra of Gharshana. He has stood up his ground against a dominating performer like Kamal. Kudo’s to Venkatesh for his efforts in starting the multi-starrer trend in Tollywood.
Ganesh Venkatram and Bharat Reddy looked just like real time cops. Poonam Kaur did a guest role which has little prominence.
Technical Details : The Story has no strings attached. It is straight to the point from start to the end. It is similar to watching a engrossing Tennis Match. Chakri Toleti did nothing new with the telugu version and stuck to the successful original script.
Dialogues which were done by talented director Neelakanta are top notch.
Background by Shruthi Hassan is ok. There are only two montage songs which went along well with the script.
Cinematography by Manoj Soni was excellent.
The crisp editing added much value to the film.
Super Verdict: Eenadu might not lure audiences in hordes and set box office records. But its is like watching a engrossing Tennis Match and enlightens thoughts regarding the society. Box office wise it’s a typical 50 days film.
